Environmental economist Alberto Salvo is an associate professor, Dean’s Chair, and Deputy Head for Research at the Department of Economics, National University of Singapore (NUS). He holds several appointments across NUS including serving on the University Sustainability and Climate Action Council, which oversees NUS’s sustainability journey, and is an Associate Director at the NUS Global Asia Institute, a research institute. Beyond NUS, Dr Salvo is Co-Editor at the Journal of the Association of Environmental and Resource Economists and Editorial Council Member at the Journal of Environmental Economics and Management. Salvo studies how the behaviour and incentives of economic agents, such as households, workers, and firms, interact with scarce environmental resources, such as air, water, and land. He received his Ph.D. in Economics from London School of Economics in 2005.
