The PAPSI Summer Program 2024 offers an immersive experience centered on digital economics, sustainability, and entrepreneurship. Running from July 27 to August 9, students will reside on campus in residential dorms, providing a vibrant and collaborative living-learning environment. The program features courses and academic seminars led by distinguished professors, informative sessions on U.S. graduate school applications, engaging discussion panels about career development with University of Wisconsin-Madison alumni, and guest speakers from international organizations. Martin Ganco is the Robert Pricer Chair in Enterprise Development and Professor in the Management and Human Resources department at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is also the Academic Director of the Weinert Center for Entrepreneurship and a principal in the Initiative for Studies in Transformational Entrepreneurship (INSITE Cluster Initiative). Martin’s research interests include strategic human capital, entrepreneurship, innovation, platforms, and complexity theory. Martin’s research focuses on how organizational and knowledge contexts shape entrepreneurship and innovation while emphasizing the role of human capital. Martin examines these questions in a number of settings including workers in high-technology firms, service industries and by studying career histories of scientists and engineers. He earned his PhD in Business Administration from the University of Illinois. He currently serves as a Senior Editor of Organization Science and previously served as an Associate Editor of Strategic Management Journal.

Dr. Grainger’s research focuses on understanding the distributional effects of regulations, property rights and institutions as well as the political economy of environmental and natural resource policy. Applications include ambient air pollution, climate change and rights-based management of marine fisheries.

Professor Zhuoxin “Allen” Li is the Michael and Mary Sue Shannon Professor and an Associate Professor in the Department of Operations and Information Management. He is also a faculty affiliate in the Data Science Institute at UW-Madison. He is a recipient of the National Science Foundation’s CAREER Award (2022-2027), Poets & Quants Top 50 Undergraduate Business Professors (2021), Sandra A. Slaughter Early Career Award (2023), the Gordon B. Davis Young Scholar Award (2020), and the Nunamaker-Chen Dissertation Award (2016).
Professor Li’s research focuses on digital platforms. Digital platforms have profoundly reshaped the economy—they have created new distribution channels, reorganized supply chains, and transformed how businesses reach their customers. These platforms bring in substantial coordination challenges when the variety of participants’ interests are not well aligned. Professor Li’s research seeks to improve the value creation process through the design of information and coordination strategies.
